Hindu Proverb: “There Isn’t A Tree In The World That The Wind Hasn’t Shaken”
By Lauren Cho
There isn’t a tree in the world
That the wind hasn’t shaken.
The trees have all swayed and swirled
As their leaves and fruit were taken.
As all trees have experienced wind and trouble
All humans, too, experience adversity.
But through all of the hardships and struggle
We can always find a solution to our difficulties.
Everyone is bound to have some bad luck
But the way around this is not self-pity
Nor to be shocked senseless and remain stuck
But to work hard so that we can be free.
There isn’t a tree in the world
That the wind hasn’t shaken.
But many trees, even after being whirled
Are still standing, straight and tall as a bastion.
There isn’t a single person among us
Who has not seen difficulty and strife.
So let’s face this strife with boldness
And work together towards a better life.
